"Thank you so much for your generous support through the MEF Grant. The “Reading at Home” project is making a meaningful impact on K–2 students receiving RTI services by providing developmentally appropriate reading materials for use both at school and at home. These materials target essential foundational literacy skills, including phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. Students participate in daily, targeted reading practice with caregiver support, strengthening home–school connections and encouraging consistent literacy routines. This two-generation approach empowers caregivers to listen, model fluent reading, and engage in discussions with their children, helping to build motivation, confidence, and overall reading achievement.
Since implementing the grant, students have shown great enthusiasm for bringing home books that match their reading ability and have reported reading more frequently outside of school. During parent-teacher conferences, caregivers shared how much they appreciate the thoughtfully selected materials and noted increased engagement in home reading routines. The materials are carefully maintained, ensuring the project remains sustainable and will continue to benefit future students. Overall, this initiative is strengthening early literacy skills, fostering family involvement, and providing an equitable, lasting resource that supports the development of confident, lifelong readers.Thank you again for your continued support." - Kristina Santos, RTI
“I just wanted to say thank you so much! These desks are incredible and have helped my students so much already. They are so much more focused on the actual work rather than trying to get into a good position to write!”

"The headphones and adapters were a great addition to our daily math instruction. Students use the headphones and adapters once a week at the iPad center during math to work on their individualized My Path lessons. The headphones and adapters made a great difference while the Kindergarteners were completing their iReady benchmark assessments in January. It was much easier for them to concentrate. Students were able to complete their assessment faster and show greater progress. Students are also able to complete their individualized lessons during centers in a timelier fashion. The students feel very grown up having their own headphones and they look forward to using them each week.
Thank you again for your support!"

"I just wanted to say what a wonderful time my daughter had at the writing workshop with Brigit Young. Brigit has not only inspired them to write but I think she connects with them on a very personal level. They were discussing books they like, and my daughter mentioned Tae Keller was her favorite writer. It thrilled my daughter to know that Brigit was friends with her! It helped her to see authors as a community of writers inspiring each other and others. Thank you for the grant that gave the 5th graders such a wonderful opportunity!"

"Thank you so much for funding my Learning & Lounging Flexible Seating Grant! I have already witnessed more engagement and focus during independent work time. My students appreciate the change of pace from the usual classroom set up. Thank you!"
